What Happens During a Treatment Visit

Before you arrive
You need to stop eating two hours before your appointment. You should stop drinking liquids 30 minutes before. This helps prevent nausea. You also need a ride home. You cannot drive until the next day after a full night of sleep.
At the clinic
You will check in at our center. We offer Spravato treatments in person at our Laurel Maryland and Alexandria Virginia locations. A staff member will take you to a comfortable room. They will check your blood pressure to make sure you are ready.
Taking the medicine
You will use the nasal spray yourself. The staff will guide you through it. You tilt your head back and spray once in each nostril. If your dose is higher you will wait five minutes and do it again with a new device.
The observation period
After you take the spray you will relax in the chair. You must stay for at least two hours. This is a safety rule from the FDA. During this time our staff checks your blood pressure and asks how you feel. You can listen to music or just rest.
Side Effects You Might Feel
